The Rivne regional prosecutor’s office told the details of the murder in the regional center of a 42-year-old man by a special forces officer of the Lviv GUNP.
The prosecutor’s office reported that the incident occurred on July 19. A 27-year-old policeman attacked a currency exchange office in one of Rivne’s shops. He shot at the co-owner of the exchanger who was trying to stop the robbery.
The victim died on the spot from his injuries, and the attacker fled in a Toyota Land Cruiser. However, a few hours later he was detained at a stationary police post.
“During the check, it was found that the man was a law enforcement officer, a special forces officer of the Main Directorate of State of Emergency of the Lviv region. During the inspection, a substance similar to a narcotic was found in his car, a service pistol PM, from which, according to preliminary data, a resident of Rivne was shot,” - reported in the prosecutor’s office.
The detainee admitted that he went to the crime because of debts, he partially admitted his guilt.
The special forces officer was informed of suspicion of premeditated murder for mercenary motives and robbery committed under martial law.
Currently, the issues of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect, removing him from office and appointing an official investigation are being resolved.
Earlier, a 19-year-old boy was detained in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region, who killed his mother and her girlfriend. The death of women ended the conflict between mother and son, in which a friend intervened. The young man inflicted many knife wounds on the women.
