On Thursday it was announced who will lead the team. This is Ivan Hasek, who was unanimously selected by the Czech Football Federation (FACR) for this position. This is not an anonymous figure. Already in 2009, he led the Czech national team in five matches, while simultaneously serving as president of FACR. In addition, he worked, among others, for Sparta Prague, French clubs Strasbourg and Saint-Etienne or exotic national teams. He was the coach of the Lebanese and Gabon national teams.

The Czech Federation also announced that the new coach’s contract will run until the end of the 2026 World Cup qualifying rounds. It also includes a clause extending the contract for possible playoffs and the World Cup.
