Individual competitions in Lahti were held in scandalous conditions, and the results were like a lottery. However, one of the representatives of Poland, Jan Habdas, took advantage of this situation. Krzysztof Bigun was very impressed with his achievements and predicts a brilliant career for him.
The topic of who will “carry” the Polish ski jumping in the future, when the current stars finish their careers, boomerangs back into the discussion. Krzysztof Bigun, who once performed on the hill himself, believes that Jan Habdas will be a worthy successor to Kamil Stoch, Piotr Zyla or David Kubacki. Despite difficult conditions, he performed brilliantly in Lahti, which caused great enthusiasm from the Eurosport pundit.

Strong winds led to the fact that the competition, taking place on March 26, was paralyzed literally every few moments. One competitor jumped, and the second had to wait 5 minutes. He jumped second and third again in 5 minutes. And so almost until the end of the competition, in which the first - and as it turned out the last - series lasted more than an hour and a half.
In these very difficult and dangerous conditions, Jan Habdas showed himself to be the best of the “white-reds”, taking 11th place with a score of 117.1. The 20-year-old’s performance impressed Krzysztof Bigun, who praised the young player in the Eurosport studio.

“Jasik is a player with great potential. Of course, today was something like a lottery draw, but he can afford great jumps. He has amazing physical data, he is a strong player. It’s only a matter of time before he starts using it. Today he showed that he can cope with difficult, changing conditions, the expert said.
“He is a very lively player, there are plenty of him everywhere. He could even climb the ceiling. Sometimes this led to dangerous situations. It took some strength to subdue him in training. I was afraid that something would happen to him,” said the former jumper. “Now Yasik is different, he has matured,” Bigan concluded.
