On the last day of the European Indoor Championships, the results of the Poles were at least satisfactory. On March 5, our women’s relay team added another medal for our country, and then Piotr Lisek achieved the same.
The European Athletics Indoor Championships this year has come to an end, although the past day was also fruitful for our team. On March 5, our hurdlers, runners and pole vaulter set out to fight.
Three Polish medals at the European Indoor Championships
As expected, the Polish women’s relay performed best, winning the fifth medal for the white-reds. Like the day before, this time the fans could rejoice at the bronze medal. Although the team went to Istanbul greatly weakened - without Justina Sventa-Ershetić and Natalia Kachmarek - they managed to cope with the wards of Alexander Matusinsky. At the finish they registered with a time of 3:29.31 behind the Italians and the Dutch.
Our hurdlers Krzysztof Kiljan and Jakub Szymanski also performed very well. Few people bet on them, and yet they reached the grand final, and in it the latter won the European Championship. In addition, Piotr Lisek also performed well - he also won the puck in these GVMs.
