Iga Sviontek is gaining momentum this season. After a poor start at the Australian Open, the world number one will play in their second final of the season. First, the Pole won the WTA tournament in Doha, where she dealt with Daniella Collins, Veronika Kudremietova along the way, lost with Belinda Bencic, and defeated Jessica Pegula in the final.

So far in Dubai, Iga Swiatek has defeated Leila Fernandez, Lyudmila Samsonova, Karolina Pliskova (after a penalty) and Coco Gauff. The Polka met Czech Barbora Krejcikova for a triumph at a tournament organized in the United Arab Emirates.

The match started after 16:00 Polish service. The Polka got off to a good start with an advantage of 30:0 and then 40:15, but the opponent was able to reverse the fate of this game and break the Polka after a five-minute struggle. This was Iga Swiatek’s first such situation in two tournaments in the Middle East.

In the second set, the Czech served very well, which led to Raszynyanka’s own mistakes and a defeat with a score of 0:40. Although the advantage was only in one break, Iga Sviontek had to pull himself together to interrupt this magnificent series of Krejcikova. And so it happened, and the polka defended her second serve, although she made a double serve fault.

Kreychikova was ruthless at the end

With a score of 2:3, Iga Sviontek played her opponent with an excellent return, but in the next game, Krejcikova did the same, who again had an advantage of one break. The Czech defended the next pass, which meant that she needed only one game to win the first set. Rashinyanka did everything possible to defend herself, and it paid off, because with the score at 15:40, our tennis player managed to change the fate of this game and equalize the score 4:4.

Iga Sviontek started the eighth game with double faults on the serve, which, thanks to Krejcikova’s good play, contributed to another break in this match. Thanks to her serve, the Czech was one game away from winning this set. The 30th rocket of the world scored the first point with an ace. The tennis player scored the second and third points after the unsuccessful return of the Pole to the net. True, the Czech had three set points, but she had already used the first one. The first set ended with the defeat of Rashintsy with a score of 4:6.

WTA in Dubai: Iga Sviontek failed to pass

In order to equalize the status of this meeting, Iga Sviontek had to start avoiding her own mistakes, of which there were many in her performance. The motivated first rocket of the world was close to breaking the Czech in the second game and even had two break points, but did not use any of them. The polka had another chance to break in the fourth game, but Kreychikova scored four points in a row and once again defended her serve.

What Sviontek hadn’t done a moment before, the Czech managed to do, perfectly responding to her opponent’s transfers. Kreychikova broke the Pole, and she again had to chase the result. Unfortunately, in this match, the first racket of the world did not repeat the form of previous meetings, and the accumulation of her mistakes with a solid game of the 30th racket of the world led to the fact that the representative of the Czech Republic won the second victory. set 6:2, and the whole match 2:0 and for the second time in history deprives the Pole of the title. This situation first occurred in 2022 during the WTA final in Ostrava.
