WTA Merida: Magda Lynette’s Road to the Quarterfinals

In the 1/16 finals in Merida, the Pole, seeded by “one”, had a difficult fight with Camila Osorio. After losing a tie-break in the first set, the 21st rocket of the world managed to get up and turn the tide of this meeting. First, she equalized the score, winning 7:5, and in the decisive set she left no doubts to her opponent and won 6:2, thanks to which she advanced to the next phase of the tournament.

In it, she had to face the representative of Hungary - Miss Udvardi. There was literally everything in this match: the triumph of the Pole 6:0 in the first set, and the opponent’s comeback. Chaos ensued in the second set. In the first five games, tennis players broke as much as … five times, and only in the sixth game did Udvarda defend her application, despite Lynette’s ability to make a break.

With the score 2:5 in favor of the representative of Hungary, a very unpleasant incident occurred. At 30-0 to Lynette Udwardi, she took a wrong step and injured her ankle. The injury was so serious that the tennis player had to leave the court with a squeal on crutches.

WTA Merida: Magda Lynette lost

Magda Lynette played Rebecca Peterson in the semi-finals. The crisis of knowledge came in the second game of the first set, when the tennis player, leading 1:0, could not use as many as seven break points, which was the driving force behind the Swede, who beat the Australian. Open semi-finalist 2:6.

The second set was the same, with Lynette in the lead and a missed opportunity to break. Poznańka tried to defend herself and, with the score 1:5, she even defended the match ball, but that was not enough. The Pole made too many mistakes in this match. The Australian Open semi-finalist lost this set 4-6 and lost the match 0-2.
