Jan Urban spoke about his dismissal from Górnik Zabrze. The coach commented very sharply on the decision of the club’s management. He stressed that he was not treated with due respect. - You can say that I returned home, but, unfortunately, I ended up at home … Well, you know what, - he said in an interview with Interia.pl.
In mid-June, Górnik Zabrze activists made an unexpected and controversial decision. The decision was made to fire Jan Urban, which came as a shock to the Polish football community. After all, the coach did a great job, and yet it was not enough. According to media reports, the reason for the termination of cooperation with the 60-year-old football player was a conflict with the president of the club.
Boss Zabrze Arkadiusz Szymanek explained on the pages of the Goal.pl portal why he decided to part ways with the coach. However, now Jan Urban, who had previously avoided making statements, only said that he did not expect such a turn of events. Legend Gornik Zabrze did not hide his bitterness about the situation in an interview with Interia.
Jan Urban about his dismissal from Górnik Zabrze. Strong words of the coach
In an interview with Michal Białoński, the coach clearly emphasized that this was not how he imagined the end of his adventure with the 14-year-old Polish champion. He admitted that immediately after the announcement of the decision, this did not suit him and still does not suit him. Until now, he cannot understand why he was released. - In general, our football lacks respect. We definitely need to improve this. This can not continue like this. I still wish Gurnik all the best, but this situation… I don’t even know how to understand and accept it,” he said.
After a while added. - I can not accept it and I will say this: it will hurt for a long time. What happened to me in Zabrze is unpleasant. You can say that I came home, but, unfortunately, I ended up at home … You know what, - added the 60-year-old. It can be seen that the coach is still very excited about what happened.
Analyzing Jan Urban’s interview, one might get the impression that between words he “stabbed a pin” into President Górnik Zabrze. - Everyone can have their own plan, their own point of view, but, as you mentioned at the beginning: you need to sit down, say what and how, explain yourself and move forward. And it’s not that anyone lacks the courage… just to tell the truth,” he said.
It seems that the coach should have no problems returning to the coaching bench. He is an excellent and recognized specialist, but, as he himself emphasizes, he has a certain trauma due to the way he was treated. He openly admitted that such behavior deprives him of the desire to pursue this profession.
