The Vice-President of the Polish Athletics Association made a sincere confession regarding a recent dispute involving our athletes. Tomasz Majewski referred to the conflict between Anna Kelbasinskaya and the “Angels Matusinski” and the accusations of Adrianna Sulek.
In recent weeks, during the World Championships in Athletics, several negative events have occurred in the Polish team. The fans lived mainly on two problems - a conflict in the “Aniołków Matusiński” team with Anna Kielbasinska in the lead role and verbal brawls between Adrianna Sulek and PZLA. Now Tomasz Majewski, vice-president of our federation, has made several statements to one of the sports websites in which he touched on both issues.

Recall that in the case of Kelbasinskaya and the rest of the relay participants, it was a terrible lack of communication between the runner, her teammates and the coaching staff. Coach Matusinsky did not receive news about the change in the regulations, and his ward did not tell him about this fact, although she somehow found out the latest regulations. Later, the coach himself redirected the blame to the PZLA, because it was the union side that had to announce the new start rules in the World Cup.
- It’s also my fault, I should have seen it. When a person does something repeatedly, he doesn’t pay attention to the details. Unfortunately, this happened, although the sport ended as we expected. In both relay races we were far from medals. Let those results improve in Munich, Majewski said in an interview with Interia.
- I can blame the world federation for not signaling the changes clearly enough. This should be seen by several people, including myself. This is a mistake that I admit,” he added.

Later in the conversation, the PZLA vice-president also mentioned the allegations of Adrianna Sulek, who claims that the Polish Athletics Federation is doing a lot to hinder the development of her career.
- I don’t agree with that. We rather push it, because we are here to ensure that all careers develop as best as possible, and we just do it, ”Maevsky replied.
