PiS wants to count votes in UK elections. “These are combinations because they fall in the polls”

Must read

- We want to introduce such changes so that the election commissions can count votes as transparently as possible, that is, so that the chairman shows each vote cast for the entire commission, the entire commission notes for itself which vote is valid or not, - the influential Deputy explained and added: - That’s how votes are counted in the UK, that’s how votes are counted in some other countries.

Sobolevsky also acknowledged that the change would extend the count, but would, in his opinion, be more transparent.

The Minister of Justice and Justice, when asked if any other changes are planned in the method of counting votes, replied that this is one of the changes, and the rest should be “cosmetic”. He added that a draft law on this matter would be submitted within a few weeks.

The opposition doubts the intentions of the authorities

“Seeing that they are receiving polls, they are fiddling with the election law and counting votes to increase their chances, not necessarily in an honest way,” Dariusz Jonski, a member of the Civic Coalition (43), comments to Fact. - Mr. Sobolevsky does not know that the commissions are appointed from among the candidates nominated by the election commissions, - Marek Sawicki, a 64-year-old PSL deputy, tells us in turn.

- These are all combinations. I’m afraid of the PiS combination. Seeing that they are getting polls, they fiddle with the electoral law and count the votes to increase their chances. Not necessarily an honest way, - commented the deputy of the KO Dariusz Jonski in an interview with Fakt.

The MP from the KO adds that he always has concerns when PiS proposes any changes to the electoral law. - Firstly, they tried to postpone local elections because they lost in Rzeszow and Rude-Slańsk, so they are postponing them. Later, they thought of changing the ordinance to the Hungarian model in order to change the districts so that in those places where they have higher support, there will be more seats. And now they propose to change the counting system. So I have concerns. The project, of course, is not. And I have no confidence that it will be as the deputy Sobolevsky says. And I am convinced that it will be exactly the opposite. Because in this act they will write other changes that will make them want to increase their chances of winning, - evaluates Dariusz Jonski,

- I am against any changes, in recent years the law has not been changed and PiS won, software won, and indeed there were no situations when something would have to be changed, except for minor technical adjustments, such as transparent ballot boxes, etc. We will be watching very closely what they come up with,” he adds.

MP Jonski also emphasizes that now everything is transparent. - Each party has its own representative in the election commission, as well as stewards. Everyone is looking at their hands. Moreover, you can write a protest and the votes will be recounted. No need to drastically change and combine. This is done by people who see that they can lose power, says the KO politician.

Opposition: Let’s stick to our tally system

Why, according to MP Jonsky, Yaroslav Kachinsky is now talking out loud about the need for new rules for counting votes? - In my opinion, this is exactly the same song as Trump. Donald Trump said the same thing when he lost in the polls. On the one hand, this is mobilization, on the other hand, it is the preparation of your electorate for a possible defeat in the elections. If they lose, they will say that the elections were dishonest, that they were not transparent, sums up MP Dariusz Jonski.

Also, PSL MP Marek Sawicki, in an interview with Fakt, points to the proposal described by the Secretary General of PiS. - There is no law or regulation prohibiting the chairman, at the request of any member of the commission, to order such a method of counting. It depends on him. Are they divided into piles, or does he open each card and show a voice, and he divides into piles while the others look. It absolutely doesn’t matter. I am convinced that this is not what Mr. Sobolevsky has in mind. And most importantly, to make some kind of falsification and a possible alibi for failure around the upcoming elections. Today’s law does not prohibit this counting system, which Mr. Sobolevsky is talking about, Mr. Savitsky emphasizes.

He also draws attention to the problems that MP Jonski made. - Mr. Sobolevsky does not know that the commissions are appointed from among the candidates nominated by the election commissions. So we already have diversity. If there are more participants, it is a draw. In addition, each of the election commissions has the right to the so-called husband trusts her, - emphasizes deputy Savitsky.
