Do the deputies want to relax more and vote “from a sun lounger”? There is a proposal

Must read

The proposed provisions concern the inclusion in the Seimas regulations of the provision on the possibility of remote work not only during an epidemic, but also during an epidemic threat. This will allow deputies to vote remotely at the next meeting, which is scheduled for August 5. And it is precisely the coincidence of this date with the rapid pace of work on the bill that arouses suspicion among some parliamentarians.

So far, up to 40% of tourists have come to Kołobrzeg. This will hit the tourism industry hard.

- This refers to the possibility of remote work for deputies in a situation where the vast majority of Poles are deprived of such an opportunity (…). There is no reason why deputies and deputies should be treated with privilege, says left-wing MP Marek Rutka.

Similar doubts are expressed by MEPs from other opposition groups. They say directly that this change should be the gateway for all those Members who would like to go on vacation now at the end of July. And at the same time, on August 5, I find myself at work. Even from vacation.

- Someone wants a comfortable life, perhaps someone does not want to come to Warsaw and prefers to vote from a lounger, - says MP Yaroslav Urbanyak from the NGO.

They think remote work will come in handy

At the beginning of July, the draft amendments were proposed by the Presidium of the Seimas and have already found work in the committees. If the deputies hurry up, they will be able to vote for the changes on Friday, July 22. The authors of this decision protect the project.

“Today, the Senate is taking advantage of this opportunity for remote discussion, and is also considering the threat of the epidemic to city, commune and district councils,” said PiS MP Yaroslav Zielinski.

Currently, the Seimas, committees and subcommittees can work remotely in the event of an epidemic, as well as a state of emergency, natural disaster or martial law. The presented draft assumes that the decision to introduce remote work will always be made by the Marshal of the Seimas.
