One of the most discussed topics in Ukraine is the registration of women in the military: voluntarily or mandatory, all or representatives of certain professions.
According to People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko, the Rada has finally taken up the issue of mandatory military registration for women.
“Today, the National Security Committee considered three bills that dealt with this issue. Mine is one of them. Based on the results of the meeting, the committee supported and adopted as a basis the draft law of Maxim Buzhansky, which states that women with a medical specialty must be registered with the military. Others are voluntary.
In particular, in my bill I proposed that all women fit for military service could only voluntarily become registered with the military.
What is the next procedure?
Now this bill, which was adopted as a basis, will be submitted for consideration and voting in the Rada. If it is adopted in the first reading, then with the help of amendments it will be possible to take further decisions.
