Griffins is about to make a comeback as Fox and 20th Television have unveiled a first look at the upcoming 22nd season of their animated sitcom. Family man. The preview shows some new gags from everyone’s favorite Rhode Island family, as well as some of the show’s signature gags.
The preview was posted on Fox Animation’s Domination YouTube channel and features what is arguably one of the season’s highlights as Griffin’s daughter Meg (Mila Kunis) appears to be pregnant. Dr. Hartman (Seth Macfarlane) goes to check Meg’s abbreviations during the inspection only to start repeating real grammatical abbreviations in a typical Family man fashion. Of course, any preview of the show would be incomplete without showing the antics of patriarch Peter (MacFarlane), who is shown in another clip with fireworks, eagles and blowers strapped to his body in an apparent attempt to take flight. Like most things in Family man, however, the plan goes awry and Peter ends up cascading through the house.
One of the clippings shows Peter eating edible underwear in what he calls a “non-sexual situation” during a prison execution. However, the punch line of the cutaway jokes is clearly Peter describing “the most unprofessional set since they filmed Timothy Chalamet V DuneThe scene then cuts to an animated Chalamet giving a monologue on the desert planet Arrakis, only to be blown away by a strong gust of wind. Peter is then forced to take Chalamet away, angrily stating that he “shouldn’t be in windy movies!”
Besides McFarlane and Kunis, Family man also plays voices Alex Borstein like Lois Griffin Seth Green like Chris Griffin Patrick Warburton like Joe and Arif Zahir like Cleveland. McFarlane created the show and is also an executive producer under his Fuzzy Door Productions banner. Despite McFarlane signing a general contract with NBCUniversal in 2020, Family man remains a Fox and 20th Television production.

bye season 22 Family man set in stone, the near future of the show, like most productions, may be in doubt due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Because the studios were unwilling to make a deal for fairer working conditions, McFarlane and the showrunners Family man left in solidarity with the writers. Showrunners for MacFarlane’s other animated hit, American dad! came out too.
Family man was renewed for seasons 22 and 23 earlier this year. During the strikes in May, it was reported that McFarlane had fulfilled all his duties on Family man, although it is not clear if this only applies to the 22nd or 23rd season. American dad! Significantly more work was reported to follow in subsequent seasons. However, the progress of both may depend on when the studios return to the negotiating tables.
