V succession Appropriately titled “Nobody’s Missing” season 1 finale. Jeremy StronGKendall Roy was in a fatal car accident after his sister Shiv (Sara Snook) wedding. As Kendall and Roy’s waiter go out looking for drugs, a car plunges off a bridge, drowning the young waiter, leaving Kendall completely shocked and pretending he was never involved.

This plot haunted the restless Roy throughout seasons 2 and 3, as a result of which in season 4 Kendall hardened, determined to be on top at any cost. Despite Kendall’s late father, Logan Roy (Brian Cox), knowing about the tragedy, the case was never made public. With only one episode left, it’s unlikely we’ll see this plot point again, as the fallout from such a controversial incident could take an entire season.

Despite such an open ending, we have to admit that the storyline was integral to Kendall’s journey. In the season 3 finale “All the Bells Are Ringing”, Kendall admitted the truth to his siblings, the moment that brought them together to defeat their father in the run-up to the final season, and ended Kendall’s grieving process. While we may never see him face the outer consequences of his actions, the inner journey Kendall took as a result of it made him the character he is today.

succession constantly tried to compare Kendall’s upbringing to that of his father. America Decides emphasized this when Kendall suggested that all decisions he makes are for his family, a justification Logan shared in the first season. We also know that Roman (Kieran Culkin) has kids of his own, even if they disappeared with his girlfriend after the show’s pilot episode. Now that Shiv is announcing that she’s about to have baby Roy, we have to ask, will we ever see the repercussions of this?

One of successionthe main storylines were Shiva and Toma (Matthew Macfadyen toxic marriage. The two used each other countless times over the course of the show, leading to two heartbreakingly rude arguments in “Back Door Party” and “America Decides.” As their relationship falters, the revelation of Shiv’s pregnancy threatens to tear them apart even more, Tom at first didn’t even believe her. Instead, the sad puppy asked if she was using some Waystar scheme.

WITH succession happening over such a short period of time, it’s doubtful we’ll ever see Wamsgam’s baby wreaking havoc on Waystar, or that we’ll ever see the long-term consequences of how the crumbling couple handles fatherhood. However, Tom’s longing for a family has been a big part of his character over the last few seasons, so a plot point could serve as a way to bring the characters together or separate them forever. It is likely that the finale will consider the fate of their relationship, and the child will play a large role in them. However, it is unlikely that we will ever see these two on screen as parents. Since Shiv had no maternal instincts at all (seriously, she used the baby’s revelation as a blow to Tom), it would be interesting to see how her upbringing compares to her father and brothers before her.

What happened to Pierce?

succession Season 4 started with one goal; to fight the kids of Roy against Logan one last time. Obviously, this is not exactly what happened, as Logan’s sudden death was something of a wry one. However, in the season premiere episode of The Munsters, Royce outbid Logan by purchasing the family’s rival media company, Pierce. After spending much of the second season trying to get Pierce, it was only fitting that Logan would end up losing the deal to his own kids, but since then, the show hasn’t seemed to care about the fate of the company.

Sure, Roy’s kids have been a little preoccupied lately, but with so much screen time focused on growing the Pierce family throughout the show, it would be a shame not to see what came out of the company. Regardless, the kids “talking more” when acquiring Pierce were extremely entertaining, and it was the only time we’ve ever seen a father-child war play out. Thus, although this acquisition served as a kind of conclusion to this story, it is likely that it will never see the light of day in full.

With the feature film ending on the horizon, one would wonder if these plot points weren’t at least mentioned by the Swarms as they enter their final battle for the Waystar throne. There are many more examples of storylines that we would like to see resolved (what happened to the cruises at the end?), but it is nonetheless important to acknowledge that these stories served a purpose in shaping successioncomplex characters, even if we don’t see the full implications of them. Time will tell what truths the ending will reveal, but for now we can only guess.
