New poster for upcoming Netflix movie Nimon has just been released, giving us a cheeky new take on the animated fantasy adventure movie. Film based on the comic book of the same name N.D. Stevensonwill be released on Netflix on June 30, 2023.
The new film will tell the story of Nimona, voiced by Chloe Grace Moretza teenage werewolf who is the target of the assassination of the knight Ballister Blackheart, voiced by Riz Ahmed. However, his attempts are complicated when he is framed for a crime and must rely on Nimona to save him. In fact, she may be the only one who can do it. Newly Released Trailer Nimon gives us a breathtaking look at an animated film that is unlike other films. The film had a rocky road to its release as it was canceled at Disney before Netflix picked it up in 2022.
The new poster features Nimona, the film’s protagonist, standing with her arms crossed in front of a collage of her own work by the comic book artist. Her wings are spread out and her tail wraps around her knees. She looks at the viewer with a satisfied smile. An image of Ballister Blackheart can be seen at the bottom of the frame. A canopy of twinkling lights offsets the stage light shining on Nimone. The poster features the slogan “A new hero takes shape”, alluding to Nimona’s shape-shifting abilities. The new poster gives us one of our first glimpses of the highly anticipated film.

An image from the movie was released yesterday giving a glimpse of the chaotic dynamic between Nimone and Ballister. The film is one of many animation projects in recent years that challenge the near-ubiquity of Disney animated films in the last decade. And with success Movie Super Mario Bros. And Minions: Rise of Gruthe doors seem to be opening for non-Disney animation projects.
