In connection with the release of the upcoming game remake Mermaid swims closer, many teasers and clips have been released to heighten the excitement of every fan. Ariel, the protagonist of the film based on the 1989 animated film of the same name, has always been eager to find out what lies above the surface of the ocean, even if it means making a risky deal with a dangerous sea creature. The last clip from the upcoming Disney feature film Melissa McCarthyUrsula’s proposal Holly BaileyAriel made a deal in exchange for a potion that would make her human for three days in one of the dangerous conditions.

A clip uploaded via the Rotten Tomatoes YouTube channel shows Ariel making her way through Ursula’s hideout, who ends up offering her a deal to make her human for three days. Like SebastianDavid Diggs) and flounder (Jacob Tremblay) witness the whole deal, Ursula warns Ariel that she and Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) must share the kiss of true love before sunset on the third day. Ursula went on to say that if Ariel could fulfill the condition, she would remain human. However, if she fails to fulfill the agreement, she will turn back into a mermaid, but she will belong to Ursula.

Mermaid Riding a wave of nostalgia

The newly released clips and trailers have already evoked nostalgia for the 1989 animated film, recreating some scenes that many fans may remember. Along with the shark-chasing scene and the “Underwater” video, young viewers - and even adults who watched the animated film as children - will be able to see “Part of Your World” on the big screen, in a beautiful performance by Bailey. Although Daughters of Triton will not be included in the upcoming film, Alan Menken to share that it is not necessary, fans can also indulge nearby Mermaidinspired merchandise, including the Royal Clamshell LEGO set, Ariel Pop figure and Ursula’s mini procedure.

Disney’s latest remake has already made waves in the months leading up to its release, not only because Mermaid brings back to the big screen one of Disney’s most beloved classics, but also a casting decision. Bailey’s casting as Ariel is monumental as she becomes one of the first black women to play a live-action Disney princess. The actress-singer has already proven herself fit for the role, with critics calling the 2023 remake a magical and charming reimagining.
