James GunnMarvel Studios’ commitment has ended as Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 went out and closes the chapter on the team as we know them. While no one has truly left the Marvel Universe, Gunn has certainly taken on his new role as co-CEO of DC along with Peter Safran, but while the director is busy developing superhero content for a rival studio, his MCU experience will live on. It turns out that Gann consulted with Kevin Feige in numerous MCU games outside guardians franchise.

The first thing fans had in mind when Warner Bros Discovery announced Gunn’s new role was that he would now become Feige’s nemesis, but the director denied all the bullshit by revealing that the first call he made after being hired was to Feige. . (John Cena was second). At the time, Feige also shared his excitement about future DC films with Gunn. And it seems that his friendship with Feige has changed the entire MCU as we know it.

Gunn introduced fans to the space side of the MCU. guardians Galaxies Volume 1. It introduced the Kree vs. Skrull conflict in the cinematic universe, as well as the mythology of the Infinity Stones that became the cornerstones of the Infinity Saga. Gunn recently spoke to The Wrap about consulting on other projects, as well as being a “friend” and “team player”. He said,

“I consulted on all issues. I consulted on all Marvel films. [Marvel Studios President] Kevin [Feige] sent me the Spider-Man script and I gave my notes. He sent me scripts for Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and I took notes on all those scripts. It was really like a friend and like someone who was part of a team and a team player.”

James Gunn will miss his Marvel family

Whereas Gunn’s love for his actors and characters is a well-known fact. Until recently, little was known about his friendship with Feige and other studio executives. He recently told Collider, “Well, to be honest, I’m going to really miss my friendship - not my friendship because I’m still friends, but I’m going to miss my relationship with Kevin. [Feige] and Lou [D’Esposito] because I really like these guys and they are incredibly helpful.” But fans can rejoice as Gunn builds his DC Universe. He also said that he would discuss the Marvel DC crossover someday.
