June is just around the corner and soon fans will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the release of the film. Secret Invasion on Disney+. As fans prepare for the debut of the highly anticipated show, USA today has unveiled an all-new short teasing what to expect from a series that promises to take the franchise in unexpected directions.
“Nick comes back having lost all the powers he had before, so we’re trying to solve problems without being too superhuman.” Samuel L. Jackson talks about his role as Nick Fury. While the series focuses on an intergalactic alien invasion conflict, the show’s cast members promise that the story will remain based on a spy story. “The kind of roughness, the location, the way it feels, the way it’s written, it’s a thriller,” he said. Secret Invasion will focus on Nick Fury as he uncovers a dangerous plot with a group of Skrulls who have infiltrated power on Earth and must recruit the likes of Talos, Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) to stop them. Don Cheadle, who returns as Rhodey, says the all-star cast complements the different perspectives the franchise provides. “Looking at the MCU through these different lenses, you can see all these different sides of the characters. So we can really understand who they are,” he added. With an exciting and grounded premise, Secret Invasion is poised to be another worthy entry into the MCU.
Secret Invasion is the latest in a wave of Disney+ shows
Secret Invasion continues the expansion of the MCU into television following the success of shows such as Vandavision And Falcon and Winter Soldier. In addition to starring in his own spin-off, Nick Fury will return again this November with the release of Miracleswhich rounds out the Marvel roster for 2023 and features Carol Danvers’ unrivaled team (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani).
However, the fifth phase is just getting started as the franchise will be further expanded in 2024 with the release of Captain America 4who will be the star Anthony Mackiewho returns as Sam Wilson after taking on the protagonist mantle, and Thunderboltswhich will be released on July 26th. Besides, Blade also set to debut next year, but production is currently on hold due to the WGA strike as the writers demand fair compensation from studios unwilling to budge.
