Have you ever gone to the movies? Maybe you didn’t like it, maybe it wasn’t what you expected, or maybe there was some other reason. But maybe there was a movie in which you decided that it was better to spend money on a movie ticket than to sit in the cinema for longer. If so, don’t be ashamed; this happens more often than you think.

For example, on April 19, 2023, user girl CalledMaria posted a question on the Reddit thread r/AskReddit, a subreddit for asking open questions for discussion. The message asked, “If you ever walked out of a movie theater because a movie was so bad, what movie was it?” There were astonishingly many responses, over 24,000 responses.

“The Last Airbender” (2010)

The last airbender is a live-action film based on the popular Nickelodeon television series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Since the series was a huge success, many fans of the show were excited that it would become a live-action film. Unfortunately, the director of the film was M. Night Shyamalanwho is relatively inconsistent with his work, despite having produced a couple of cinematic gems over the years.

Many have criticized the film for making the characters seem too unfamiliar as their personalities have completely changed. User thespookyonetwo summed up almost all of the other criticisms: “As a fan of the original animated series, I was thrilled to see the live-action adaptation, but the movie was a huge disappointment. The acting was wooden, the script was clunky, and the special effects were underwhelming. I watched about half of the movie before I decided it was better to spend my time on something else.”

“Emoji Movie” (2017)

User External_Ad_930 stated that he took his younger brothers to the movies while he was looking after them. But even then they couldn’t resist. Movie Emoji is aimed at children, so the fact that even two boys can no longer be in the theater says a lot.

The film was also not a hit with critics, earning only 6% on Rotten Tomatoes. It has also been widely ridiculed on the Internet since its announcement, as very few people could take the emoji-based film seriously.

‘Epic Movie’ (2007)

epic movie parody comedy film directed by Jason Friedberg And Aaron Seltzer. These two are known for creating Horror franchise… and their many box office flops, including The Hunger Games And vampires suck. Parody films seem to be commonplace for them.

epic movie was supposed to parody popular adventure films of the time, but was panned by critics, earning only 2% on Rotten Tomatoes. User Maso_TGN stated that it “wasn’t epic at all”, which sums up most of the criticisms of the film.

“Battlefield Earth” (2000)

“Oh, I distinctly remember. It was Battlefield Earth. The shooting angles were changing from one side to the other for no reason, and I began to tilt my head to make everything even. Then my friend joined us. Then we thought at the same time: “Are we going to squeeze our necks for THIS?” And he left, ”says user Ahlq802. Their comment ended up being the third most voted (Reddit equivalent of “likes”) comment in the thread.

It is true that the film was far from a critical success. However, many consider it one of those “so bad it’s good” movies. For others, however, the sci-fi action movie has been called one of the worst ever made.

‘Green Lantern’ (2011)

Green Lantern director’s superhero film Martin Campbellwho also filmed an incredible 007 movies Casino Royale And golden eye. However, for some reason this DC movie failed to feature action as many found it boring.

User Hewholooksskyward stated that “Even Ryan Reynolds admits how bad it is.” This is true, as Ryan Reynolds has been open about his disdain for the film on numerous occasions, which is especially revealing because he starred in it.

’28 days’ (2000)

28 days not great, but not terrible. This is a dramedy featuring Sandra Bullock as a columnist for a newspaper on alcohol rehabilitation. The film also stars Viggo Mortensen And Steve Buscemiamong others.

The reason why Redditor user Church_of_Footstool left is because “I saw 28 days with Sandra Bullock when I was 12, with a few friends. For some reason we thought it had to do with 28 days later and was about zombies. We were very disappointed.”

‘Lady in the Water’ (2006)

Lady in the water is another film directed by M. Night Shyamalan, although it has been slightly less black and white since its release. Many found it terrible (like user Caviarpapi), but others like user EndoShota even liked it.

The film is a supernatural psychological thriller about a man who owns an apartment complex and discovers a woman living in his pool. She was later revealed to be a water nymph. While some aspects of the film are good, others are not. Shyamalan was criticized by critics for acting in the film, which made him appear condescending to some.

Jupiter Ascending (2015)

User Thejohnshirey added this answer to the thread, stating “You know, it was awful when I didn’t want to see more.” Mila Kunis.” Jupiter Ascending was a movie that showed great promise when the first trailers came out. It featured an all-star cast and was to be directed by wachowskiwho also directed the widely popular Matrix trilogy.

Unfortunately, the film went through a hectic development, with numerous release delays, poor test screenings, and a budget bumped up from $130 million to $210 million, which is quite a lot. Overall, he had potential, but too many accidents contributed to his downfall.

“Wonder Woman 1984” (2020)

Wonder Woman 1984 actually not so bad. In fact, many liked it, although it received mixed reviews from critics. However, user szczurman83 was one of those who didn’t really like the film, although he didn’t explain why.

However, this is definitely a movie that is not for everyone. Many criticized the bizarre pacing and convoluted storyline. On the other hand, many praised the film’s visuals and acting. Either way, it might be worth checking out if you like DC movies or superhero movies in general.

‘Love Guru’ (2008)

User bodybagcutie shared this response: “love guru… went out to see incident instead for the third time.” What this statement says is that incident is another movie that is considered not very good, which should tell you how much this particular Redditor didn’t like this rom-com.

Even his star cast John Oliver, Ben Kingsley, Mike Myers, Vern Troyer, Justin TimberlakeAnd Jessica Alba could not save this film from the ridicule of critics. It earned just 13% on Rotten Tomatoes, and many reviewers argued that it had too many gross gags to bear.
