One of the most shocking movie announcements in recent years was the news that the 1996 disaster movie twister there would be a continuation Twisters. But with the talent involved, it’s hard not to get excited. Today Deadline reports that in the heights star, Anthony Ramos joined the cast of the sequel.
The original film was a box office hit in 1996 and grossed almost $500 million worldwide. He starred Helen Hunt And Bill Paxton and followed a team of amateur but dedicated storm hunters who plan to test a new research device in the midst of a huge tornado outbreak that is about to hit Oklahoma. The film was directed by SpeedX Jan De Bontwas written Jurassic Park author Michael Crichton And Anne-Marie Martinand even had Steven Spielberg as an executive producer. The plot of the sequel is still kept secret.
Ramos first made a big name for himself with his prominent role in the original Broadway cast. Hamilton The Grammy-winning and Emmy-nominated actor has since starred in films such as A star is born, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, in the heightsAnd Bad Boys. He can also be seen starring in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and joining the MCU in an upcoming Disney+ series Iron heart.
Who else is tied to Twisters?
The cast of the sequel also includes Daisy Edgar-Jones And Glen Powell. Edgar-Jones is another recent breakthrough who has captivated audiences and critics alike with his performances on series such as Ordinary people And Under the Banner of Heaven and films like Fresh And Where crayfish sing. Powell also made a big name for himself by starring with Tom Cruise And Miles Teller hit at the box office Top Shooter: Maverickanother movie that fans have been waiting for a sequel for years.
Twisters put under direction Lee Isaac Chang according to the scenario Mark L. Smith. Most recently, Chang filmed Stephen Youn nominated for an Oscar in the 2020s Minari. He also directed a recent episode The Mandalorian. Smith’s past writing credits include survivor And midnight sky.
