Remarkably, we have reached the 40th anniversary of what was - at the time - the last film in star Wars saga, Return of the Jedi. To mark the occasion, Hasbro has unveiled six new action figures from the vintage collection as part of its 40th Anniversary celebration at the Star Wars Celebration.
Return of the Jedi saw Luke Skywalker, trained by his mentor Yoda, try to recover from the defeat he suffered at the hands of his father, Darth Vader, in The Empire strikes back. Skywalker must save his friends, Han Solo, Leia Organa, C-3PO and R2-D2 from Jabba the Hutt before attempting to destroy the Empire once and for all after the construction of the second Death Star, as well as trying to save his father from the Dark Side of the Force.
Collider is pleased to announce the new figures, available for pre-order April 11 at 1:00 pm ET exclusively on Hasbro Pulse. The first offer, which will retail for $72.99 and will be available in Summer 2023, consists of four figures, titled: STAR WARS:JABBA’S COURT DENIZENS VINTAGE COLLECTION. The set features four members of the court who sought to win Jabba’s favor by engaging in low behavior with the scum of the galaxy. They were prominently featured in the legendary first raid on Jabba’s palace when Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) infiltrated the gang’s hideout to rescue his friends. Inspired by the original line of Kenner figurines, this set includes 5 fun accessories.

The next item is called STAR WARS:JERJERROD MOFF VINTAGE COLLECTION will retail for $16.99 and includes a Moff Tiaan Jerjerrod figure. A cold-blooded technocrat, he was responsible for overseeing the construction of the second Death Star, which loomed ominously over the wooded moon of Endor. Once again, the set, which also includes an accessory, is inspired by the original Kenner line.

The fan favorite of the series has finally received a new action figure. Born in Sullust, smuggler Nien Nunb fought for both the Rebel Alliance and the Resistance during his long and distinguished life and career before meeting his end in a trilogy of sequels. Kit called STAR WARS:NIEN NUNB VINTAGE COLLECTION will also retail for $16.99 in Kenner-inspired packaging and designs, and will include two more entertainment-inspired accessories.
