This spring, Netflix will release its latest supernatural adventure movie! Upcoming movie Chupa, the story of a little boy who discovers and befriends a young chupacabra. Today, the streamer released the first footage of the film and officially announced the date of its premiere: April 7, 2023.
Chupa I’ll follow AlexEvan Witten), a shy 13-year-old boy who “flies from Kansas City to Mexico to meet his extended family for the first time.” But once there, he meets much more than just family. He discovers a baby Chupacabra living under his grandfather’s barn. To protect his new friend from the evil scientist (Christian Slater), Alex and his cousins will embark on an adventure that will change their lives. The first images of the movie give a good look at the kids, the chupacabra, the villain Slater, and even the behind-the-scenes crew! In the first image, Alex Witten meets his new furry friend, which is made from beautiful CGI. The following image is dedicated to the family who will soon be joining Alex on his journey to help the Chupacabra. Alex is standing with his grandfather (Bichir) and two cousins (Verdugo and Ciarra). The following image shows the evil scientist Slater character. Slater, in an Indiana Jones outfit, examines a chupacabra claw with an almost sly grin. The last image focuses on the hardworking people behind the camera as we see the director. Who is behind the camera Chupa?
Chupa is the latest film directed by BAFTA-winning director Cuarón. While the Mexican-born director is probably best known for winning a BAFTA award for the film’s screenplay. Gravity with his father Alfonso CuaronHe is also an experienced director. His past directorial credits include films such as Desierto and acclaimed short film Aningaak. He is also appointed director El Muertowhich is installed in Sony Spiderman cinematic universe based on the titular supervillain.
Chupa was written Sean Kennedy Moore, Joe BarnathanAnd Marcus Rinehart according to the story of the trio and Brendan Bellomo. Among the producers of the film Chris Columbus, Mark RadcliffeAnd Michael Barnathan With J. Mac Brown, Anna Barnathan Barryand Bellomo as executive producers.

Shy 13-year-old Alex (Evan Witten) flies from Kansas City to Mexico to meet his extended family for the first time. But just as Alex begins to recover, he discovers a mythical creature living under his grandfather’s barn: a young chupacabra cub he recognizes from stories about an adult chupacabra who, according to legend, ate farm animals. Alex soon learns that his new friend “Chup” has a secret history with his family, and that the headstrong, dangerous scientist Richard Quinn (Christian Slater) is after the misunderstood creature to try and use its powers.
