Momentum Pictures has unveiled the trailer for the touching and hilarious family drama. Wild flower from the director Matt Smukler and writer Yana Savage. movie stars Kiernan Shipka as Bea, the daughter of two neurodivergent parents (Samantha Hyde And Dash Mihawk) who grows up taking care of them and looking after them just as they look after her. On her way to adulthood, she struggles with the choice between staying with her parents and finding her own life and love. The trailer gives a glimpse into Bea’s life under her parents, showing her desire to move on to new horizons.
From the very beginning it becomes clear that Bea’s life was far from typical. It all started with the impetuous marriage of her mother and father and her expedient birth. Despite their neurodivergence, Bea’s parents try to live as best they can outside of their parents’ home, even if they doubt their ability to raise a child. They quickly get in trouble when young BeaRyan Kiera Armstrong) tries life outside of her home, and she begins to realize that her life is not normal, including driving lessons at ten years old. She only yearns for independence more when she meets a boy and considers going to college, though her parents’ needs still force her to stay and take care of them. Through those in her immediate environment, including her parents, she begins to learn to live for herself and realizes that they are not as helpless as she has always feared.
Except Shipka, Armstrong, Hyde and Mihawk, Wild flower has a strong auxiliary composition with Charlie Plummer, Alexandra Daddario, Kannon Omachi, Brad Garrett, Reed ScottAnd Erica Alexander near Gene Smart And Jacki Weaver. The film received solid reviews at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival with a 60% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Who Appears in Smukler’s Soulful Heart Wild flower?
Smukler based Wild flower about his family life, drawing inspiration from his niece and her parents. After the film premiere, own Collider Perry Nemiroff sat down with the team behind it all to discuss the film’s backstory and their personal experiences on set bringing these characters to life. Smukler detailed the wording of the story, telling Nemiroff:
“Actually, what I did for my niece was a bit of a short film, so it’s based on a true story and really inspired by my niece’s situation. to help [my niece] go to college, which is what happened, and then we decided that there is so much joy in this family, so much laughter, happiness and hope, that I wanted to kind of make it into the story and use this real family as an inspiration point.
Wild flower It will premiere in theaters on March 17, and digitally and on-demand on March 21. Watch the trailer below.
