Inglourious Basterds And Django Unchained star Christoph Waltz back in the trailer Consultant, which may turn out to be the Oscar-winning actor’s most disturbing performance yet. We know those are big words for a man who has played some of the most depraved characters in cinematic history, but the first full look at Waltz as the sinister protagonist in Prime Video’s upcoming dark comedy thriller series uplifts the term “boss from hell.” ‘ to a whole new level.
In the trailer, we meet Regus Patoff (Waltz), a brazen, cutthroat new consultant at leading gaming company CompWare. After the apparent suicide of their CEO, the company falls into the hands of Patoff, who has a very specific approach to business. From the jump, he orders all the employees working from home to come to the office within an hour or they will lose their jobs, and crosses off a favorite employee from the list after he simply did not like his smell. Patoff appears unsettlingly cool-headed, calm and collected, but with an unease lurking under the surface that can prove deadly. After some digging, the employees discover that their new interim boss may not be who he claims to be, which puts them on a crash course with disaster and fighting for their lives.
Along with the Waltz, the series leads Brittany O’Grady (White Lotus), Nat Wolf (Rack), Amy Carrero (Menu), Michael Charles Vaccaro (For all mankind), And Sloane Avery (Physical). Building on what we’ve already seen in the production, today’s trailer promises chilling moments paired with satirical commentary on the modern workplace and killer performances from top actors.
Viewers have Servant creator Tony Basgalop thank you for coming up with a new series, and with the hit Apple TV+ thriller, he has an even clearer idea of what to expect from Consultant. Basgalop is also an executive producer along with a three-time Emmy nominee. Matt Shakmanwho Marvel fans will recognize for his directorial take on the masterfully crafted series, WandaVision. Providing your skills Consultant, Shakman also directed the first episode of the series.
