In a ten-minute video posted on the official Netflix Youtube channel, the actors Emily in Paris reacted to the important moments of the finale by sharing their shock at the impromptu wedding. “Oh God. I don’t think I can watch it twice. It’s too intense.” Lucas Bravo (Gabriel) said how he and his co-star Camilla Razat watched with bated breath as her character (Camilla) interrupted the priest at their wedding. “She says it in English too, so we can all hear.” Lucien Laviscount, who plays Emily Alfie’s love interest, agreed. After seeing Gabriel thank Emily for helping him get a Michelin star for his restaurant, Camille decides the couple still loves each other. Despite agreeing to marry Gabriel at the party, she decides to break up with him in the middle of the ceremony, stating that she cannot marry someone who loves another. “You did well,” Bravo said of Razat’s performance, with Collins also praising the stage. “Cami’s performance was so honest.”
In the video, Razat explains how she was able to film such an emotionally charged scene. “It was so cold. It helped me to be in such a state and so exhausted that my feelings come out very easily. And being with Lucas was the best thing because we were connected,” Razat said. She then went on to explain how she only focused on herself and Bravo. “No one else existed when I spoke to him. I’m like, Lucas, Gabriel, I need to tell you. It’s like I’m telling Lucas we can’t be friends anymore and it really broke my heart.” Bravo recalled that filming this scene was a powerful experience. “For some reason, everyone was so quiet and focused that night, and something pretty magical happened in that church.”
Although Camilla’s departure from Gabriel caused a strong reaction from the actors, the events that followed this scene caused even more excitement. “Everything is open,” Puck (Mindy) says, looking almost as devastated as Laviscount when Alfie tells Emily to go after Gabriel. While Laviscount stated that he “doesn’t think Alfie is done with Paris”, Razat believes that Emily and Gabriel “should be together”. The cast showed they all agree that Gabriel needs to get together and decide once and for all whether the life he’s always dreamed of (Michelin-starred restaurant, kids, and loving wife) will be with Emily, especially after… how he finds out that Camilla is pregnant. .
