Like the first season bad batch Season 2 consists of 16 episodes and is due to end by March 29th.
bad batch was an interesting path to becoming a series. While a four-part storyline about an elite group of clone troopers with genetic mutations (all voiced Dee Bradley Baker) was scheduled for a sixth season clone wars, the show’s cancellation resulted in the storyline being shelved. An unfinished story reel for the arc was included with the Netflix Blu-Ray release of the season. Lost missionsbut the arc was fully completed in time for the seventh season, which aired on Disney+ in 2020. clone warsthe plans were made by the creator of the series Dave Filoni for the official spin-off.
The show follows the clone troopers Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, and Echo, each with special advantages that distinguish them from their brothers in arms. Unlike other clones, the Bad Batch can fight Order 66’s programming to execute a Jedi. They struggle to adjust to their new role in the Galactic Empire when they are summoned by Admiral Tarkin (Stephen Stanton) for an imperial mission.
Change of mission
Inspired by classic war films such as Cannons of Navarone and Dirty Dozen, bad batchEach of the characters has their own quirks associated with their respective skills. Hunter has sensory abilities like Matt Murdock, Pest is big and strong, Tech is a computer genius, and Crosshair is an incredible shooter. Echo was a fan favorite character on clone wars who was originally killed during the siege of the Citadel. However, a storyline involving the Bad Batch revealed that the Separatists kept him alive for his brain to be analyzed. Now transformed into a cyborg, Echo decides to say goodbye to the 501st Legion and joins the Bad Party.
The turning point for the squad comes after they track down Saw Gerrera (Andrey Kishino), a freedom fighter who served with the Republic during the Clone Wars. So began to develop an insurgency, which he would lead. Andor and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Stories, and the Bad Batch discover that the “rebels” they sent to kill are really just refugees. While Hunter, Pest, Tech, and Echo choose to abandon their duty, Crosshair maintains his loyalty to the Empire.
Enemies and allies
Unlike other clones who have turned against their Jedi leaders, the Bad Batch does not have the inhibitor chips that force them to blindly follow orders. However, the Crosshair has a Tarkin-enhanced chip that only sharpens his abilities and turns him against his squadmates. The Bad Batch gets a new member of their team on their home world of Kamino when they rescue Omega (Michelle Ang), a young female clone whose genetic make-up differs from other Jango Fett replicants. Over the course of the season, Omega proves to be a worthy member of the team with his own unique abilities.
This season also sees the Bad Batch reunite with Captain Rex, who fled the Empire after helping save Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) in the end clone wars. Rex helps the Bad Batch remove the chips that were forcibly placed in them and introduces them to another runaway clone, Gregor (who would become Rex’s ally in rebels). With an uncertain future in a galaxy under Imperial rule, the Bad Batch begins taking odd jobs for the Trandoshan mercenary Cid (Rhea Perlman). Sid may claim to be doing this “for the money”, but she is a former Jedi informant with no love for the Empire.
Many other characters from the larger star Wars universe appear throughout the season. The bad party initially decides to betray their orders when they rescue rebels hero Caleb Dume/Kanan Jarrus (Freddie Prinze Jr.) when he is being hunted by other clones. Before appearing live in Boba Fett bookinfamous gunslinger Cad Bane (Corey Burton) appears with his Todo 360 droid (Seth Green) to trade blows with the gang. Min Na-Wen from The Mandalorian also appears as her character Fenech Shan, who ends up helping the Bad Batch in their fight against Bane.
Other characters include attack of the clonesKaminoans Town We (Rena Owen) and Lama Su (Bob Bergen), sisters Martinez Trace (Bridget Cali) and Rafa (Elizabeth Rodriguez), rebels hero Hera Syndulla (Vanessa Marshall), corrupt Ryloth senator Orn Free Ta (Phil Lamarr) and clone deserter Kath Loquane.
critical mission
One of the revelations the Bad Batch makes during a mission for Rex is that the Empire intends to retire the clones and replace them with limited soldiers who have been brainwashed to serve the Empire. The old clones (who age twice as fast) will simply die out, and the new Imperial Army will be under the direct control of Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDermid). In order to completely wind down the cloning program, Tarkin has Vice Admiral Rampart (Noshir Dalal) destroy the cloning center in the city of Tipoca on Kamino.
While inside the facility, the Bad Batch narrowly escape the rubble after Crosshair unexpectedly decides to help his old squadmates. Although he ultimately chooses not to join his former allies, Crosshair appears to leave his brothers on better terms. Before the Bad Batch sets off on their ship Marauder, Crosshair even manages to make amends with Omega, and considers them “quits”. Omega appreciates that Crosshair saved the AZI-3 (Ben Diskin), a Kaminoan medical droid who assisted them.
While the cloning facility could be destroyed, the Empire won’t let all Kaminoans leave so easily. Kamino Chief Scientist, Nala Se (Gwendolyn Yeoh), is a mother figure to the clones who actually helps them during their initial escape. Curiously, Nala Xie was taken to a secret Imperial facility for a top-secret project.
