A con man and a CIA agent walk into a bar, but neither knows about the other’s real career. What is sure to be a recipe for disaster is at the heart of the upcoming ABC series. The 30-second teaser shows the pair’s tumultuous start as they hit it off at the bar. However, they lie about what they actually do for a living: con artist Charlie (Ventimiglia) says he teaches yoga, and undercover CIA agent Emma (Kim) reveals that she is a “stage performance queen turned rocket scientist”. “. Interspersed throughout are clips that reveal the true nature of Charlie and Emma’s lives, offering an enticing glimpse of what viewers can expect from the action. Viewers also see that even at the high stakes, Charlie and Emma seem to form a real bond with each other, although they still remain cautious.
The company you keep follows Charlie and Emma, both of whom are involved in a conflict that keeps their professional connections alive. Charlie promotes the “family business”, hoping that soon enough will be enough for him to leave for good. Meanwhile, Emma is hot on the trail of a “vengeful criminal” indebted to Charlie’s family. In pursuit of their goals, they are forced to confront their lies in order to protect themselves and their loved ones from dire consequences.
