This is for those who love to rock, but not too much. Paramount+ has announced a three-episode docu-series titled Sometimes When We Touch, which explores the history of soft rock. Along with the announcement, Paramount+ also released a new trailer teasing the upcoming documentary series. Sometimes When We Touch premieres exclusively on the service in the US and Canada on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, and will also air in the UK, Latin America, and Australia starting Wednesday, January 4, 2023. The series will premiere in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France, April 4, 2023

The series will tell the previously untold story of soft rock, a genre that dominated pop music worldwide in the 1970s, only for the genre to completely collapse in the 1980s. But in the end, soft rock experienced an unexpected resurgence, returning the deserved attention to a forgotten direction of music. The series will feature interviews with some of the biggest soft rock legends, including Air supply, Dan Hill, Kenny Loggins, Ray Parker Jr.., Rupert Holmesas well as Tony Tennille. Through the candid stories of these musical legends, the series celebrates some of the most underrated musical legends.

Interviews and reminiscences of these soft rock legends are mixed with interviews with musicians influenced by their work. Artists interviewed include Daryl “DMC” McDaniels, John Ondrasik, L.A. reed, Richard Marks, Robert “Cool” Bell, Sheryl Crow, Stuart Copeland, Suzanne Hoffsas well as Verdine White. The series also includes many rarely seen archival interviews and video recordings of performances. And don’t worry, it’s not an all-out celebration of love. The series will also feature commentary covering the unsavory aspects of the genre - anyone pina colada? In doing so, the series will also celebrate an undeniable impact on pop culture in general.
