The trailer for the movie goes to great lengths to keep much of the plot under wraps given the serious implications that are likely to take place in this story. Some teasers were provided during San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year, including Rudd mentioning Scott’s new life as he rides the coattails of fame after helping the Avengers. He even wrote a book called Beware the Little Guy which details his role in the events. The final similar to an alleged podcast he has that was referenced in the Disney+ series. Ms. Marvel.

Descriptions of SDCC-exclusive teaser footage from the film revealed that this new mindset and Scott’s priority serves as a potential point of conflict between him and his family, especially his daughter Cassie. Katherine Newton joins the cast as an adult version of Cassie Lang (who looks like she may have gotten her own costume and powers), replacing the earlier cast Emma Fuhrmann who starred in the role Avengers: Endgame.

During the CCXP 2022 event in Brazil, Paul Rudd gave us some details on where Scott is in his life as we enter. quantum mania. Here’s what he said:

“Of course, a lot has changed since the last film. First, we saved the universe. That hasn’t happened yet, so now a lot has happened since the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp. I think Scott is trying to figure out, “Where are we going in life now?” He’s still very close with his daughter and he’s looking forward to the next chapter, and just like in life, the chapters aren’t what you expect them to be. So, the chain of events happens pretty quickly and we dive into a pretty big story.”

Randall Park confirmed that he will return as Agent Jimmy Woo, who also starred in the previous film and notably returned to WandaVision. Unfortunately, Scott’s favorite loser friends Louis, Dave, and Kurt (played by Michael Peña, TI, as well as David Dastmalchyan respectively) is reportedly not returning, most likely due to the film being predominantly set in the quantum realm. As for other comedy stars, Bill Murray made the news as a big addition to the cast as Kraylar, a former acquaintance of Janet Van Dyne’s.

Another major star in the cast is Jonathan Majors, who will play prolific villain Kang the Conqueror after previously playing a variant of himself, He Who Remains, in last year’s Disney+ series. Loki. Wide buzz surrounds the arrival of Major as Kang, who will be the next Thanos-level villain for these upcoming phases of the MCU, collectively titled the “Multiverse Saga”. During CCXP 2022, director Peyton Reed spoke about the threat Kang poses to the multiverse, saying:

“We are starting Phase 5 on a grand scale. This is the biggest adventure Ant-Man and the Wasp have ever had. I have ever experienced - and that includes Thanos. I think He Who Remains in Loki is very different from Kang the Conqueror in our movie. They are Variants, but they are very different people. Kang is the one who rules over time, but he saves his energy. He’s very, very scary to deal with, which Ant-Man and the Wasp learn first-hand.”

It was also revealed during the SDCC that the villain MODOK would appear in the film, but the actor playing the role has yet to be revealed. Gregg Turkington will also return as Dale, manager of Baskin-Robbins. It was also reported that Corey Stoll may return as some version of Darren Cross/Yellowjacket, the villain from the first Ant-Man a movie that was crushed into the Quantum Realm at the end of that movie’s climactic final battle. In more recent news William Jackson Harper (A good place) also had an unnamed role in the film.
