Over time, directors and screenwriters have become bolder in mixing different genres in their films. Why? No one ever said that a film should be limited to one genre. Not only that, films are much more interesting when different elements play a role in the development of the characters and the plot of the story.
However, many filmmakers can get carried away with including too many genres; the film loses its identity and becomes meaningless. But when done right, movies like All Everywhere All at once, Parasiteas well as Lobster masterpieces to be reckoned with.
10/10 “Everything is everywhere and at once” (2022)

Waymond Wang (ur.Ke Hai Quan) and Evelyn Kuan Wang (Michelle Yeoh) are Chinese American immigrants who own a laundry and whose daughter Joy Wang (Stephanie Hsu), begins to move away from them when it reaches adulthood. Although the premise may seem simple and arbitrary, it is not at all the case.
Rotten Tomatoes Consensus: “Led by the outstanding Michelle Yeoh, All Everywhere All at once lives up to its title with an artfully crafted attack on the senses” sounds exceptionally true to the film. The film is much more than just a typical family story; it’s love, relationships, human emotions, desires, needs, life choices, opportunities and more, with elements of romance, drama, comedy, sci-fi, action and adventure all rolled into one.

palm springs is a modern and beautifully reworked story about groundhog day. The overused premise in Hollywood movies doesn’t necessarily look smart or original, but the screenwriter Andy Ciara and director Max Barbakov give him a breath of fresh air.
8/10 ‘Parasite’ (2019)
Bun Jong HoX Parasite was the movie of 2019: some might even say it was the movie of the decade. Despite the complicated plot, birth defect was met with positive reviews. director Paul Thomas Anderson made sure that his neo-noir detective comedy was something no one had done before. Anderson’s posh storytelling and attention to detail brought all the contrasting elements together.
“Nothing is certain - a surprisingly pleasant feeling that requires repeated viewings. There’s so much, too much to absorb, and all the laughter Anderson piles on top of the subject matter means there’s a lot to miss. birth defect is a high-grain variety: provocative, fun and kind of weird.” - Matt Patches, IGN
