After almost 6 years of odyssey, the final stage of production for Avatar: Path of Water officially finished and filmed, and now the sequel is actually ready to hit theaters around the world. Best Producer John Landau, who also produced the original 2009 film, announced on social media today that all dots are now crossed out and all i’s dotted in post-production for the film, which began in 2020 shortly after filming wrapped.

In Thanksgiving spirit, Landau posted a photo of himself and the film’s huge post-production team proudly expressing their well-deserved sense of accomplishment with big smiles and pumped fists. Director, James Cameron he is seen holding a giant bottle of champagne, which was clearly a big celebratory moment for everyone involved. “Congratulations to the entire Avatar: The Way of Water family,” Landau captioned the photo. “Yesterday we completed the final mix and mastering of the image and I took a photo of our post-production team. I am grateful to each of you for your contributions to the film.”

Film director, Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Cabinet of rarities) Cameron’s close friend also praised the team for a job well done. The film has a gigantic task ahead of it if it is to match the box office success of its predecessor, but everything points to a positive direction for Cameron and his team. Firstly, the film received a coveted release in China, and secondly, a Fandango poll shows that it tops the list of films expected by Generation Z.
