Quentin Tarantino – one of the few directors who have remained faithful to the art and craftsmanship of filmmaking. Unlike most people in the film industry, Tarantino never received a formal film education and learned about cinema by watching classics such as big escape as well as Rio Bravo. His last film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a piece of historical fiction that explores Hollywood in the 1960s and is full of classic nostalgia.

“To Be or Not to Be” (1942)
The action takes place in Poland during the Nazi occupation. To be or not to be follows a group of actors who end up helping a Polish soldier apprehend a German spy. movie stars Carol Lombard as Maria Tura, wife of actor Joseph Tura, played by Jack Benny. Maria and her husband become involved in a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler. With the help of supporting actors, they manage to lure the Nazi leaders and Hitler into the theater by trapping them inside before setting fire to the building. The heroes run away, and the audience watches the burning theater disappear into the distance.
Tarantino used this ending in his film.Inglourious Basterds but added his own modern, bloody twist to it. Unlike To be or not to be, Tarantino lets the audience enjoy the spectacle of the carnage. The director also pays homage to this film with his character Brigitte von Hammersmark, played by Diane Kruger. Kruger’s character is a symbolic homage to classic star Carole Lombard. After completing his war bond-raising tour, Lombard died in a plane crash while returning home to Los Angeles. Although Hammersmark dies under different circumstances in the film, like Lombard, her unfortunate death is the result of her participation in the war effort.
‘Great Escape’ (1963)
big escape tells the story of Allied prisoners of war who come up with a plan to escape from a German camp during World War II. movie stars Steve McQueen as Hilts, who is the unofficial leader of the group and the driving force behind the escape. McQueen pushes the boundaries from the start, undermining the rules of the German soldiers and their intelligence. In one scene, he crosses the wire without permission and is shot at by the guards.
AT Once upon a time in HollywoodLeonardo DiCaprioplays fictional TV star Rick Dalton, whodigitized into this exact scene, replacing Steve McQueen. McQueen is also featured as a character in the 2019 film and is played by Billionsstar Damian Lewis. In an early scene Margot Robbie Who’s playing Sharon Tate, jumps into Lewis’s arms when she arrives at the Playboy Mansion party. In fact, McQueen was supposed to be a guest at Sharon Tate’s house on the night of the murder, but a persistent girlfriend forced him to change his plans.
“His Girl Friday” (1940)
Starring Cary Grant as well as Rosalind Russell, His girlfriend Friday is a comedy about newspaper editor Walter Burns who uses every trick to prevent Hildy Johnson, his star reporter, who is also his ex-wife, from remarrying. Grant and Russell were comedic geniuses and played each other so well that the director, Howard Hawksgave the stars the freedom to improvise their lines, leading to some of the most hysterical moments in classic cinema history.
Howard Hawks is one of Tarantino’s favorite directors and has influenced several of his films, including Crime novel. His girlfriend Friday known for his quick and witty banter, and is the first film to feature actors talking to each other. Tim Roth as well as Amanda Plummer play a couple Crime novel who bicker back and forth at the diner before robbing the place. Tarantino had Roth and Plummer watches His girlfriend Friday to show them the fast paced dialogue he imagined. The actors copy Grant and Russell when Plummer quacks like a duck over Roth in an attempt to keep his composure.
“The Good, the Bad, the Ugly” (1966)
Good bad evil follows a nameless bounty hunter (Clint Eastwood) and a wanted criminal (Eli Wallach) in a race against a bandit named Angel Eyes (Lee Van Cleef) find a golden fortune buried in a graveyard. In the end, the three men are spread out in the middle of the cemetery with weapons at the ready in a dead end. Tension builds between the men, their intense gazes, and the unique musical score that plays in the background.
The scene is considered one of the most iconic moments in cinema, with a memorable soundtrack and intense setting. Tarantino is an avid fan of spaghetti westerns and pays homage to these classics. Kill Bill: Vol. 2. Score composed Ennico Morricone, featured in the Bride’s flashback scene. The music sets an ominous tone as The Bride is played Uma Thurman walks slowly towards the church until he notices Bill, who is being played David Carradine. How in Good bad evil, the camera zooms in on the actors, who are exchanging quick glances with each other, corresponding to the same level of expectation.
“The Taking of Pelham One Two Three” (1974)
Capture of Pelham One Two Three This is a film about four men who decide to hijack the New York subway and keep passengers demanding a hefty ransom. While the hijackers communicate their demands to the police on the subway radio, the officers try to identify them, thinking it might lead to some leverage over them. The only problem? The suspects do not use their real names, not even fictitious names, but names of different colors.

‘Rio Bravo’ (1959)
Rio Bravo is the story of a small town sheriff, played by John Wayne, who relies on the help of a young gunslinger and an alcoholic’s deputy, played by Dean Martin help keep the criminal’s brother behind bars.
This is another Howard Hawks film, one of Tarantino’s favorites. John Wayne westerns. Tarantino describes Rio Bravo as a “party” movie with a slow pace and scenes that focus on character development, but it doesn’t really advance the real story. tarantino movie 1997Jackie Brown,is full of “hanging out” scenes that allow viewers to look beyond Jackie and her criminal past, such as when she turns on her records as Max Cherry passes by. Their conversation does nothing for the story, but the audience learned more about the characters.
“Dirty Dozen” (1967)
Dirty Dozen stars Lee Marvin as Major Raisman, tasked with training a group of soldiers to parachute over enemy lines to kill German officials in France. The twelve recruits are made up of ruthless convicted criminals on death row who accept a mission in exchange for a reduced sentence.
Brad Pittand his gang of merry fellows in the film Tarantino Inglourious Basterds are a fitting tribute to this classic film. Lieutenant Aldo Rain, played by Pitt, is a reference to Lee Marvin’s rogue character. Major Reisman is a bit more direct than Rain, but both men have no respect for rules and regulations. Pitt also leads a group of criminals on a mission during World War II to destroy German troops stationed in France.
