The sudden and unfortunate death of the legendary actor Leslie Jordan amazed many today and left them in shock. Celebrities who have worked with Jordan throughout his long and storied career, including colleagues such as Sean Hayes from Will and Gracewhere Jordan played Beverly Leslie (the nemesis Megan MullallyKaren Walker) shared their love for him.
Hayes, who played Jack in Will and Grace and worked closely with Jordan, wrote a beautiful ode to his friend on Twitter, writing: My heart is broken. Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I have ever worked with. Everyone who ever met him loved him. There will never be anyone like him. A unique talent with a huge caring heart. You will be missed, my dear friend.”
Same way, Eric McCormack also shared his love for Jordan, writing, “Crushed to hear of losing @thelesliejordan, the funniest and flirtatious Southern gentleman I have ever known. The joy and laughter he brought to each of his #WillandGrace episodes was palpable. He left thirty years prematurely. You were loved, dear man.”
Many began to share their love for Jordan online. Paul Feig posted a lovely tribute to Jordan to his former co-star Ski Patroltweeting, “Just devastated by this news. I worked with Leslie as an actor back in the 80s when we were on Ski Patrol together and he was simply the best. A real sweet and such a funny person. The world without him is much sadder there. Rest in peace, Leslie.”
Actor Dylan McDermott shared a video with Jordan and wrote the following caption: “Today we lost a great man. @thelesliejordan has been a wonderful friend to me. Leslie and I met on American Horror Story and made each other laugh. We recently spoke on the phone about having another show together as twin brothers. He really was my brother. I love you Leslie. I will miss you very much…”
Fellow actor and icon George Takei shared a wonderful note about Jordan. “I am stunned by the death of Leslie Jordan, who delighted us with his many television and film roles. The cause of death was a car accident after he required emergency medical attention. Leslie, we are heartbroken at your loss and will miss your fun and your inimitable spirit.”
Jordan was a pleasure to watch on screen. He had a beautiful social media presence that brought the fans a certain amount of happiness that only he could bring us, and it’s a devastating loss for the fans and the world at large. Without Jordan’s quick wit, it will be a little darker and he will be missed.
