A24 has built an incredible reputation in the ten years since the company was founded, thanks to a range of critical and commercially successful films, including midsommar, All Everywhere All At Onceas well as Uncut Gems.
The studio is dedicated to creating unique, captivating and artistic films, but in some cases the films do not resonate with the audience. While no one could ever accuse the studio of being boring, some of A24’s films are untrue and leave viewers wondering what could have been.
Woodshock (2017) - 4.1
Woodshock was a rare misfire for an independent production company that neither critics nor the public liked. Despite boasting a cast Kirsten Dunst as well as Joe Colethe film has a rather low 4.1 rating on IMDB.
Woodshock follows a young woman who, after a deep loss, turns to a powerful cannabinoid drug. The main problem with Woodshock is that the film seems aimless, moving forward with no clear direction, and offering little to entice audiences to take the trip.
“Slice” (2018) - 4.5
There were many, many things to worry about. Slice ahead of its release. Not only was it a film debut Chance the Rapperbut it also featured an incredible ensemble cast, including Zazie Beetz, Joe Keery, Chris Parnellas well as Paul Scheer. Unfortunately, the script offers nothing to its talented actors.
Even though it was billed as a horror comedy, Slice not funny or scary enough to grab an audience’s attention, which is probably why it has a disappointing 4.5 rating on IMDB.

The film tells about a Hollywood director who, struggling with life’s trials and tribulations, goes to the desert for a break. There he encounters his doppelgänger, a murderous rogue.
Oscar Isaac as well as Garrett Hedlund show strong performances and the scenes they share are the most compelling in the film. However, the plot allows mojave way down. There is an overall aimlessness to this story that leaves viewers disinterested and underwhelmed, which explains why mojave has an average score of 5.2 on IMDB.
“Revenge of the Green Dragons” (2014) - 5.3
FROM Martin Scorsese on board as an executive producer, Revenge of the green dragons there were a lot of people excited in preparation for its release. being late Ray Liotta starred together Justin Chong as well as Kevin Wu in an action-packed crime drama based on real events. Revenge of the green dragons follows two best friends as they rise through New York City’s Chinese underworld in the 1980s.

Shot in just fifteen days Tusk follows an arrogant podcaster who travels to Canada to interview a mysterious hermit who develops an unsettling love for walruses. Although the film was initially rejected, fans have come to love it in the years since its release. So much so that Kevin Smith is currently working on a sequel. Spring Breakers (2013) - 5.3
Crazy holidays there was a movie that seemed to get everyone talking. It was a bold move to take on two former Disney Channel starsSelena Gomez as well as Vanessa Hudgens) and immerse them in an R-rated film filled with crime, drugs and sex.
The film is about four college girls who rob a restaurant to pay for their spring break. However, after being arrested, they are rescued by a fearsome arms dealer named Alien. Crazy holidays was by no means a failure. It grossed over $32 million worldwide on an estimated budget of only $5 million and was well received by critics. Barely Lethal (2015) - 5.4
Barely lethal not like the movie A24. Unlike most of their films, Barely lethal is aimed at a younger audience and looks like an attempt at starting a franchise, which the studio has largely shown no interest in. However, like most A24 films, the film features an exceptional cast featuring such Hailee Steinfeld, Samuel L. Jacksonas well as Jessica Alba.
The film is about Megan Walsh, a teenage special agent who fakes her own death in order to attend school and lead a normal life, although she quickly realizes that a normal life is a lot harder than she thought. The film has struggled to find its audience and has a 5.4 rating on IMDB.

Screenwriter and director Brian Bertinothe film follows a mother and daughter who must fight a terrifying monster as they break down on a deserted road.
The movie is tense throughout the movie and the monster itself is really horrendous. The performance is also strong, with Zoe Kazan stands out especially, but the plot feels a little stretched out over the 91-minute length of the film.
“Chic Ring” (2013) - 5.6
Based on the intriguing true story of a group of teenagers who break into the homes of celebrities and steal their belongings. Elite society stars some of the best young actors in the world, including Emma Watson, Taissa Farmigaas well as Israel Broussard.
Written and directed by renowned director Sofia Coppola, the film tells one of the most interesting Hollywood stories of recent years, the only problem is that the plot of the film does not correspond to the intrigue of the real story. The performance is strong throughout and the film is stylized, but the film lacks substance. Perhaps the story will be told better in an upcoming documentary. Real chic ring: robbery in Hollywood. Elite society failed to captivate the audience, so on IMDb it has a low rating of 5.6.
