THR reported this afternoon that Bridgertonheartthrob Rare Jean Page as well as Top Shooter: Maverickcunning Glen Powell are going to star in an as-yet-untitled Butch and Sundance series on Amazon Studios from Russo brothers as well as Eternalscribes Cousins Kaz as well as Ryan Firpo. While the report doesn’t provide many details about this exciting new series, it looks like Amazon will be borrowing from Apple TV+ and setting the series in a reimagined alternate version of America’s history (e.g., For all mankind).
Page was cast as Butch Cassidy and Powell was cast as the Sundance Kid.
As Amazon continues to dominate the conversation with epic franchise series such as The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power as well as boys, no wonder they see this untitled project as something that could easily become a massive intellectual property for them, with spin-offs and spin-offs. The Russo brothers seem to have a magical touch as their latest film gray man (in which Page starred) on Netflix shortly after the film’s streaming debut was green-lit for a sequel with plans for an expansion of the universe.
