Trailer for the new season of the series good doctor, which can be viewed on ABC’s official Youtube channel, indicates that the sixth season will pick up where the previous season left off. The thirty-second teaser trailer begins with the main character of the show, Dr. Sean MurphyFreddie Highmore), dancing with his new wife Lea Dilallo (Paige Sparra) on the roof of St. Bonaventure Hospital, surrounded by family and friends, just like at the end of the previous season. “I’m very happy,” Murphy says, smiling at Dilallo and completely oblivious to the drama unfolding on the floor below. In the next scene, the audience sees Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) on her phone while saying “I’m in pain” before succumbing to her injuries as pools of blood surround her. Unfortunately, Dr. Marcus Andrews (Hill Harper) is unable to hear her pleas due to poor reception, leaving viewers unsure of her fate after she is stabbed in the cliffhanger ending of the fifth season.

As the trailer teases characters in danger, Murphy’s willingness to help is shown. “[They] need my help,” Murphy says as he prepares to take the elevator down despite Dilallo’s protests that it’s not safe. With glimpses of a police danger tape, a statement that there are “three hostages” taken by a disgruntled Owen Gottfried (David Cubitt), and a later scene with Leah wearing a bathrobe with tears streaming down her face. The trailer ensures that the stakes are high when the show returns. This is further confirmed when the audience sees Murphy with tears in his eyes and shirt covered in blood, calling for Jerome (Giacomo Bessato) do not touch him until he is taken out of the hospital room.

The trailer indicated that several original cast members would return for the sixth season. In addition to the return of Highmore and Sparra as Murphy and Dilallo, respectively, the series will also feature Dr. Morgan Resnick (Fiona Gubelmann), Dr. Asher Wolke (Noah Galvin) and Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff), all three appear in the trailer for the sixth season.
