Paramount+ went to San Diego Comic-Con with all their Star Trek TV series delivering exciting news about the future Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Prodigy, Star Trek: Strange New Worldsand most importantly the final season Star Trek: Picard. The second season ended the storylines of several fan-favorite newcomers, including Cristobal Rios (Santiago Cabrera), the newly minted Borg Queen Agnes (Alison Pill), Elnor (Evan Evagora) and Soji Asha (Isa Briones), as well as a fitting reference to the obnoxious obsolete character Q (John de Lancie), which plagued both Star Trek: The Next Generation as well as Star Trek: Voyager with his wry humor and devious actions. With so many characters leaving the series, Star Trek fans were left wondering, “What’s next for Star Trek: Picard?”
The titular Jean-Luc Picard will appear in the third season (Patrick Stewart) reunite with Next generationBeverly Crusher (English)Gates McFadden), Geordie La Forge (LeVar Burton) and Worf (Michael Dorn). William Riker (ur.Jonathan Frakes) and Dina Troy (Marina Sirtis) are also set to return, although they appeared on the show in the first season along with Brent Spiner who recurred throughout Season 2 as the treacherous Dr. Sung, who was a model for Data. While the majority Star Trek: Picard cast member left after season 2, Raffi (Michelle Hurd) and Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) are slated to appear in the third season, although it’s unclear how much they will appear in the final season.
Production on Star Trek: Picard wrapped up earlier this year, and today during the San Diego Comic-Con panel, they finally gave Trekkies a glimpse of what they can expect to see in the final season, with the first of a brand new poster showing the remaining cast . Picardbeside New generation. These posters also tie into the teaser shown, highlighting several important quotes from the crew.
Series season 2 finale Star Trek: Picard also reunited the audience with the love to hate character Wesley Crusher (Wil Wheaton), who unexpectedly showed up in the middle of the episode to whip up Kore (Isa Briones) to join the Travelers. Briones has no plans to return for season 3 Star Trek: Picardtherefore, it is currently unclear when the franchise will continue to develop this curious plot.
