The full moon in July will be special. It is also called Burzovaya or Sienna because of the period in which it occurs. In addition, this will be the first Supermoon of the year - much larger and brighter than other full moons. Let’s see when we see this phenomenon in the sky.

In July, the Silver Globe will be filled on July 3 at 13:39. This is the point at which the sky will be hard to see due to the Sun, but it will also remain visible the night before and into the night after it reaches its maximum.

Each full moon of the year has its own name. This July is no different. It has many names, referring mainly to the period in which it takes place. For example, Full Goat Moon is a name probably given by Native American tribes. This is due to the fact that in July the goat’s horns shed in winter grow back. However, in Poland goat horns grow at the turn of March and April.

We can also meet the name of the Storm or the Hay Moon. The name “Thunder Moon” comes from the fact that the most lightning strikes occur in July. The term Hay Moon shouldn’t surprise anyone either. The first harvest is coming this month.

During a supermoon, our star looks brighter than any regular full moon. It exceeds its average size by about 8 percent. Its brightness also increases. The July changes in the sky will be the beginning of the whole cycle. This year, the supermoon will appear twice more: in August and at the end of September.
