Musk hires another director. He fights for ad revenue

Must read

Former NBCUniversal executive Joe Benarroch is moving to Twitter. Previously, his former colleague Linda Iaccarino held the post of CEO of the platform.

“I look forward to sharing my experience with Twitter and working with the entire team to build Twitter 2.0 together,” wrote Joe Benarroch, who joins Musk on Monday. In his new position, he will focus on business operations.

From Facebook and NBC to Twitter

Joe Benarroch was vice president of communications, advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal. Earlier in his career, he worked for another social media giant, Facebook.

The appointment of a new director coincided with significant personnel changes at Twitter. Currently, Elon Musk is still actively involved in the management of the company, but has officially handed over the reins of leadership to the newly hired Linda Iaccarino.

new CEO of Twitter

In mid-May, Linda Iaccarino, who worked at NBCUniversal, took over as CEO of Twitter. Previously, she worked for Turner Broadcasting for two decades, where she was responsible for, among other things, launching the Peacock streaming service and co-hosting major live events such as the Super Bowl and the Olympics.

Yakkarino’s main task will be to increase the company’s revenues, mainly from the advertising sector. This is necessary because after Musk sat in the CEO’s chair and began to implement his program to rebuild the platform, many employees left their jobs, and advertisers moved away from cooperation. They were repulsed by Musk’s ideas - they were only partially implemented - as well as the way he treats employees.

Musk proved to be a very difficult boss. On good morning, he reduced the staff, and so chaotically that it quickly became clear that he had fired many specialists who were very needed in the company. When he realized that he had made a mistake, the managers asked the fired to forget about the incident and return to work. The company did not inform employees about layoffs in the manner adopted in civilized companies, but simply cut off their access to the company’s account and deactivated access cards to office buildings.
