Blashak about the next contract for the army. Hellfire missiles, among others for Apache helicopters

Must read

Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak announced the signing of a contract for the supply of Hellfire missiles. They will be used as weapons for the AW149 support helicopters and, ultimately, the AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopters.

– Today we signed a contract for the supply of Hellfire missiles. They will be used as weapons for the AW149 support helicopters and, ultimately, the AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopters. - wrote Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak on Twitter.

First AW149 helicopters this year

The first AW149 helicopters (manufactured by PZL Świdnik) will be delivered to the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade by the end of this year. Armed with Hellfire Missiles, they will transport troops and support them from the air, they will also be used for evacuation and search operations.

Last year, Poland expressed its readiness to supply 96 American AH-64 Apache helicopters, but a possible date for their delivery is not yet known. Consent for the purchase of machines by our country must be approved by the US Congress and the State Department.

During the Griffin Shock 23-1 exercise, which took place two weeks ago in Bemowo Piski, the Minister of Defense stated that “very soon, Polish pilots will begin training on Apaches and the first Apaches from US Army resources will go to the Polish Army in the backfill formula , i.e. in the formula for filling a certain gap before the signing and implementation of the contract for the purchase of 96 Apache helicopters for the Polish Army.

Apaches are doing “great” work with Abrams

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasizes that the Apaches are important because they “work excellently with the Abrams.” In the event of an attack by the Russian aggressor on Poland, the Abrams with the Apaches, as Blashak said, will form a very strong barrier. “They’re just scared away” said the head of the Ministry of Defense.
