On Tuesday, the government passed a law that will facilitate the implementation of road investments that are of strategic importance for national security. The head of the Governmental Analytical Center stated this at a press conference dedicated to the construction of the S16 road in Mazury, which has the status of a road of special importance.
“We are at a turning point. This time will decide what kind of Poland we will leave to our children. For this reason, the Council of Ministers passed a law that allows for strategic investments (…), eliminating various types of bureaucratic burdens, limiting decisions on environmental conditions to an absolute minimum, said Prime Minister Norbert Maliszewski. War forces new rules
At a press conference held at the construction site of the S16 highway between Borki Wielkie and Mragowo, he said that next week the Saeima would consider a law that would simplify the implementation of road investments that are of strategic importance for national security.
After the conference, in an interview with the PAP, he added that the government adopted this law last Tuesday, and the Saeima should discuss it at the next meeting next week. prof. Malishevsky believes that the Senate should not block this bill, since it is important from the point of view of national security.
- When we calculate how much it is possible to reduce the time for the implementation of investments, it turns out that it is more or less than half. On average, the process of preparing for obtaining a road investment permit takes 40 months, after the adoption of this act - 20 months, - estimated prof. Malishevsky.
Order for roads of strategic importance
The accelerated procedure will not apply to all road investments, but only to those that are of strategic importance for national security. This includes roads that will be used by the army and military equipment in the event of an armed conflict.
- If we have questions about security threats, troops and tanks should move along the S16 road. In the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship, security investments are being made, units are being built, weapons are being purchased and modernized. The level of security must be improved, and the way to improve the well-being of not only the inhabitants of Warmia and Mazury, but also neighboring countries is to accelerate the implementation of investments in a way that gives a high probability that we will make these investments very quickly - said prof. Malishevsky.
