Last year, Polish tenants experienced significant rent growth. It turns out that in this respect we are in second place, second only to Lithuania.
Polish tenants have experienced significant rent growth over the past year. The increase was driven by record inflation coupled with demand pressure from Ukrainian refugees. In the case of the largest cities, the annual change in this respect ranged from 20 to 30%.
Poland in second place
RynekPierwotny.pl portal experts checked whether the increase in rent in Poland is the highest in the entire European Union. It turns out that we are the vice-leader of the EU in this respect. Between November 2021 and November last year, rents in the countries of the Old Continent increased the most in Lithuania (by 30%). In Poland, this growth was 18%. The infamous Estonia closes the podium (growth by 15%), which is slightly ahead of Hungary (growth by 14%).

Where did the fall take place?
The country where rents have decreased over the past year is Latvia (3% decrease).
The website RynekPierwotny.pl notes that the analyzed results are based not only on the current market and macroeconomic situation (eg inflation rate). In highly regulated rental markets such as Germany, there are very restrictive legal restrictions on rent increases.
