Government announcements show that the fourteenth pension will be paid next year. It is not yet known what amounts pensioners can count on, but it is known when payments can be expected.
The fourteenth pension is a supplement for pensioners introduced at the end of last year. Initially, it was supposed to be a one-time payment, but due to growing inflation, it was decided to pay the “fourteen” this year, but not like last year during the holiday season, but at the turn of August and September. A few weeks ago, the chairman of the organization ” Law and Justice” Yaroslav Kaczynski announced that the fourteenth pension, like the “thirteenth”, which has been paid for several years, will become a permanent benefit. Will the award rules change? We will find out when the bill on “fourteen” will appear, it should happen at the beginning of next year.

Fourteenth pension - the full amount is not for everyone
According to Fact, the government is likely to retain the mechanism that has been in place so far, according to which the fourteenth pension in full amount (equal to the minimum pension, from March 2023 it will be PLN 1588.44) will be paid up to a certain limit and at more fourteen high pensions and annuities will be reduced according to the principle “Polish for złoty”.
Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy Stanislav Shved said in an interview with a tabloid that the ceiling will be kept at this year’s level, which means it will be PLN 2,900 gross. How much will the fourteenth pension be “on hand”? The newspaper points out that there is a trap here, because if the government does not exempt the “fourteenth” from income tax, as this year, then some people with about PLN 2,300 gross pension will have to share additional payments with the tax office. “Fact” appealed to the ministries of finance and family about this, but they did not answer.
The newspaper’s calculations show that the fourteenth net pension for people with a gross pension of PLN 3,000 will be PLN 977.74, while for pensioners receiving a pension of PLN 3,500 it will be less than PLN 460. In turn, people with a gross pension of PLN 4,000 will not be able to count on the “fourteen” supplement at all.
When will the “fourteenth” payments be made in 2023?
From the statements of government representatives, it can be seen that the fourteenth pension in 2023 will most likely be paid at the turn of August and September, that is, on a date similar to the current year.
