The new viaduct on Lazienkowska Street in Warsaw is ready for operation, the mayor’s office said. Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski has announced when the new investment will be available to drivers.
After almost 11 months of intense work, the works on the first viaduct of the Trasa Lazienkowska in Warsaw are almost completed. However, investments are already at such a stage that they will soon be put into operation.
Lazenkovskaya route is open
– Shortly before Christmas, less than a year after the start of work, and most importantly – ahead of schedule – we put into operation the first of the reconstructed viaducts of the Lazienkowska Route. The work will be continued, but today residents of the city can use the new northern viaduct – says Rafał Trzaskowski, mayor of Warsaw’s capital city of Warsaw.
The new viaduct has two traffic lanes in each direction, one of which is reserved for buses and vehicles that can use the bus lanes. Drivers will be able to use the new investment only after 18:00 on December 22. All works related to the reconstruction of the Łazienkowska road in Agricola Park will be completed in March 2024.
“Until the second of the viaducts, that is, the southern one, is built, traffic in both directions will be carried out from the north side. There are four traffic lanes – two in each direction: a bus lane 3 m wide (taxi, logistics, motorcycles, ambulances and utilities are allowed) and a lane for cars 2.25 m wide. Pedestrian entrances to the new viaduct are still not active” – read in the message.
Trasa Łazienkowska again with buses
The commissioning of a new overpass on the Lazenkowska Highway is good news not only for drivers. It will also allow temporarily canceled bus stops to be restored.
“At the new facility, buses will run on the outside of the road. This means the possibility of restoring the Torwar 02 stop towards the center, located above the Wisłostrada carriageway. The following buses stop here: 138, 143, 151, 182, 188 and, on request, routes 411, 502, 514, 520, 523, 525 and N25. Rozbrat stops will remain closed (both ways) – we read in the message of the mayor’s office.
