For several years now, the number of people for whom pension contributions have been paid has been increasing. This is great, because thanks to this, less and less had to replenish the ZUS treasury from the central budget. However, this situation will not last long: the analysis of the plant, which is described by “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”, shows that this trend will soon change.

This will be primarily due to demographic changes, as more people will leave the labor market in an aging society than they will enter.
Post-war baby boomers are reaching retirement age, so ZUS will soon have more beneficiaries. Added to this are forecasts of rising unemployment.
“In the optimistic scenario, the number of participants will decrease by 42,000; in the pessimistic - by as much as 431 thousand. This trend will be so strong that even growing economic immigration will not stop it. At the same time, the number of beneficiaries (old-age and disability pensioners) will increase significantly - estimates range from 125,000 to 223,000. people. In this situation, the effectiveness of the Social Insurance Fund will decrease.
The Central Statistical Bureau released data on pensions and pensions for 2021
The Central Bureau of Statistics (GUS) released data on pensions in 2021 this week.
