Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne announced dangerous periods in the capacity market and at the same time ensured stable operation of the electricity system and no need to limit electricity consumption by consumers. According to brief information from the office, power outages may occur on the evening of September 23rd.
“Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne SA announces periods of danger on 09/23/2022 from 19:00 to 20:00, from 20:00 to 21:00,” we read in a very short issue of Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne.
“The announcement of the threat period is due to the lack of sufficient reserve in the system. This situation is caused by the failure of power units and low generation of renewable energy sources, especially during the evening peak.” - the.
Back in late August, the Polish Institute of Economics assured that “Poland is not at risk of a power outage, since the demand for energy has not increased even below its production.”
Suppliers will set new capacity commitments
PSE has published figures to enable capacity providers to identify adjusted capacity commitments on their website. In a laconic communiqué, the PSE also said that the decision was made on the basis of the following provisions of Polish law:
