Volkswagen Group brands rise from their knees in Poland. Two of them have gained particular popularity.

After a bad year for all Volkswagen Group brands, 2023 will see solid growth. Toyota is still in first place in our country, but Skoda is showing excellent results, and Audi is now number one in the premium segment.

– The first half of 2023 was very successful for the Volkswagen Group in Poland. I hope that this trend will continue in the coming months despite the difficult economic situation,” said Pavel Scholz, Chairman of the Management Board of Volkswagen Group Polska.

According to the Samara Research Institute of the Automotive Market, in the first half of 2023, 238,673 new cars were registered in our country (+12.4% compared to the same period in 2022), of which 64,818 (+33.7 percent). ) accounts for cars of seven brands represented by Volkswagen Group Polska.

The market share of the VW Group was higher than in January-June 2022 and amounted to 27.2 percent. Thus, more than one in four new passenger cars registered in our country came from Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Škoda, Seat, Cupra, Audi and Porsche showrooms.

Škoda leads the VGP brands

The VW Group brand with the most registrations on the Polish market is Škoda, which delivered 25,910 vehicles to customers in the first half of 2023 (+41.3%). Volkswagen also performed well with 17,675 passenger car models registered (+16%). Also noteworthy is the excellent result of the Cupra brand, which had another successful semester in a row. The number of registrations increased to 4,044, a whopping 134.4 percent. Porsche (+49.3% and 1,996 registered cars) and Audi (+36.3% and 12,778 registered cars) also achieved very strong results. The good result of the brand from Ingolstadt allowed it to take first place in the ranking of premium brands.

Electrician registrations for Volkswagen Group brands more than doubled

In the six months of 2023, 8,497 electric vehicles were registered in Poland. This is 76.7 percent more than in the same period last year. The brands owned by the Volkswagen Group Polska fared much better with 1,879 new registrations representing an increase of 108.8 percent compared to 2022. The brand with the most registered electric vehicles in the Group is Volkswagen with 791 registrations, up 302. percent compared to 2022. The next places are occupied by Audi (594 registered cars) and Skoda (269 units). Both brands recorded growth compared to 2022 by 70 and 24 percent, respectively.
