The Rada wants to change the rules for calculating pensions for the military: what they offer

In Ukraine, where the legislation provides that in some cases a person called up for military service can count on crediting seniority for a pension on preferential terms, it is proposed to amend the law on pensions for those discharged from military service.

Thus, people’s deputies were given for review a draft law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On pensions for persons discharged from military service and some other persons” on adding certain types of service to length of service during the period of martial law (special period) and time being in captivity on favorable terms.

So, for the length of service for determining the amount of a pension, persons entitled to a pension under the said Law are proposed to be treated on preferential terms:

• performance of duties of service during martial law (special period) - one month of service for two months;

• the time of direct participation in the implementation of measures to ensure national security and defense, repulse and deter the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, while being directly in the regions and during the implementation of these measures - one month of service for three months;

• participation in hostilities - one month of service for four months;

• the time spent in captivity, if the capture was not voluntary and the person captured was directly involved in the implementation of measures to ensure national security and defense, protect the security of the population and the interests of the state, repulse and deter the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, being directly in the regions and during the period of implementation these measures and being in captivity, she did not commit a crime against the world and humanity - one month of service for five months;

• time spent in captivity, if a person was captured as a result of wounds, contusions or other damage to health received during hostilities, or became a disabled person due to wounds, contusions, injuries or illnesses received during captivity, and if being in captivity In captivity, she did not commit a crime against the world and humanity - one month of service in six months.
