Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Irina Vereshchuk, who spoke about the progress of verification and the return of previously canceled payments to some IDPs, said that a draft law had long been registered in Parliament prohibiting banks from collecting money from IDP debtors that the state accrues to them as subsistence assistance
“I understand that the migrant may owe money to the bank. Commercial lending has its dangers that are part of the banking business. Assistance to migrants is paid not for the banks to take this money. The idea is to help the person survive for a while.” - she said.

The document also proposes to prohibit the collection of funds provided to IDPs by charitable organizations. The minister urged people’s deputies to support this document.
Earlier, Irina Vereshchuk reported that IDPs who left the country and stayed abroad for more than 30 days lose the right to receive assistance for IDPs. The government also plans to deprive those migrants whose property status allows them to make significant expenses without state assistance.
