Another centenarian has died in the world. Venezuelan Juan Vicente Perez Mora, who became the oldest man on the planet, died two months before his 115th birthday. He is survived by 11 children, 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren, writes the Daily Mail.

The former farmer became the oldest man in Venezuela in 2020 and officially took the title of the oldest man on the planet in May 2022. This was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.

“Our dear Juan Vicente Pérez Mora, today with deep sadness and pain we say goodbye to you, that archetype of the Tachira man, modest, hardworking, peace-loving, passionate about family and tradition.”– said the governor of the state of Tachira in Venezuela, Freddy Bernal.

The man was known as Tio Juan, translated as Uncle Juan.

Vicente was born on May 7, 1909. He was the ninth child of 10. At the age of 5, he began working with his father and brothers in agriculture – helping to harvest sugar cane and coffee.

Vicente was recognized as the oldest living man on the planet when he was 112 years and 253 days old.

“His secret to a long life is to work hard, take holidays, go to bed early, drink a glass of aguardiente. (Spanish moonshine. – Auto.) every day, love God and always carry him in your heart”– said the husband’s relatives.

As FACTS wrote, earlier scientists revealed the secret of the longevity of a people whose representatives live more than 100 years. Scientists also gave simple recommendations on how to live to be a hundred years old.
