“It’s not yet obvious to everyone … obviously, - writes Mikhail Podolyak. - But nevertheless, Russia is already showing all the signs of a Failed State (failed state), “territory 404” - rapidly degrading and dying. And it will only get worse from there…
The first signs are obvious:
- the panicking military-political elite does not correspond to the level of tasks at all and simply watches how the control system is rapidly falling apart. In parallel with this, budgetary flows are “growth out”;
- control over a part of the territory is lost (border Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk regions) with an increasing result. The lack of effective control provokes the rapid growth of panic, flight and attempts to reach self-determination;
- rapidly losing control over external borders. Not only in the Belgorod region, but throughout the entire perimeter, no one is yet ready to make public territorial claims, even realizing that power resources have been diverted to the war zone. However, at least the finalization of the war, Russia’s borders may collapse in different regions;
- The PKK Wagner and other paramilitary groups have already practically proved the final loss of the Putin power monopoly on violence. A large number of militant and terrorist groups independent of the central government act independently, attack government bodies, establish their own rules in limited (so far) territories;
- inertial and low-intellectual, authoritarian and kleptocratic basic management, repressions against the opposition and total election fraud and, as a result, the rapid decay of the state vertical;
- a complete lack of ability to comply with the social contract and perform the service functions of the state: the fight against crime, the labor market, education, healthcare, and the social sphere have failed.
Just awesome. Russia has always sold itself as a large and powerful “state of stability.” It turned out that this “mannequin state” stuffed with rotting straw was disintegrating right before our eyes, spreading an incredible stench around the world.
